Book Corner

A potpourri of books, that is world literature as well as light fiction and also specialised books which I like. In a sense I'm certainly a 'book lover' not only in respect of the selection but also regarding the design, how it is bound, illustrated etc.

Categories

World/Classical Literature

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: '-The Little Prince' (ISBN 9780152048044)
Can't get enough of this, once in a while read again. A wonderful story told from the view of a child but teaching grown-ups who are able to gain deeper insight.

Gabriel García Márquez: 'One Hundred Years of Solitude'
Gabriel García Márquez: 'Love in the Time of Cholera'
(ISBN 9780060883287)
(ISBN 9780307387141)
'One Hunderd Years of Solitude' is not quite easy to read at first, however, it's worthwhile. It's challenging how Márquez combines reality and mysticism. No light fiction but worth reading. I liked it and also read 'Love in the Time of Cholera' which is easier to read.

Sándor Márai: 'Embers' (ISBN 9780375707421)
Márai succeeds in integrating a life, a family and several fates in the story of one visit on one single day without one is being taken out of the context. It's also good for reading on a weekend or a long evening.
